Here we are charging into February and a part from reading up on the new Fuji x series, the new Olympus Pen-F and the rather nice Nikon D5 and Canon 1D, its been all theory and not photography.
I have now cleared next weekend so subject to the weather I am definitely going out and shooting some wildlife.
Over the last couple of years we keep thinking about getting a dog. Where we used to live was completely unsuitable but now having the dream bungalow in the countryside this is now a possibility.
Caroline loves greyhounds but we have been keeping our options open and researching over the last few months which breed would suit us best and our lifestyle.
Well as luck would have it Greyhounds are just about perfect for us and we also have a lady at work who has some, so we have been bombarding her with questions as well as doing the usual internet research.
Once we have the garden a bit straighter and the fences all finally replaced making it secure then we will be looking to get ourselves a wonderful sighthound / needlenose otherwise known as greyhounds.
Hot on the heals of the Leica T v1.4 update we now have a v1.5 update, one of the more interesting new features is the ability to make the camera a wireless hotspot so you can perform wireless operations using the iOS application and not need to have a wireless network around, you can create your own ad-hock one directly between your phone/tablet and camera.
Fuji carry on there tradition of frequent and well thought out firmware updates. Even with the X-Pro2 announces its nice to see updates still coming for the old X-Pro1.
Last week we had another update to Lightroom. While I updated the laptop I left my main machine alone until I have done more testing, after v2015.2 I am more careful about Adobe updates.
Last year I did not manage to get out much for wildlife photography, so this new year I made the resolution that I would definitely get out. Well its now February and I have still not managed to get out for my first wildlife shoot of year, maybe next weekend i’ll finally be able to get out!

I have always had a soft spot for the Olympus Pen series. The limitation for me has always been the lack of a viewfinder, well this has finally been fixed.
Its a little pricey and I am not sure about the art filter selection control on the front but apart from that it looks good and I look forward to testing one out.
Techart have released some demo videos of an adapter that allows you to attach your Leica M glass to your Sony E mount camera and have autofocus. Could be an interesting solution for Sony users with M glass.
Its made a few people wonder about the new updated lens that Leica have started to release recently for the M.
The older glass was certainly no slouch in the performance states but most of the common lens have now been updated to even higher performance. With the old glass working fine on the current 24 MP Leica M 240 but with a new M due this year its making people think that we might get a big megapixel jump thus higher resolution required in the lens.
Personally I would like Leica to keep it under 36 MP but with better dynamic range and low light performance.
