I am seeing rumours about how Leica will develop their next sensor in house. Reports also mention that the current sensor is ‘just’ a Sony sensor.
Those who know will understand that Leica have been developing in conjunction with a number of Germain Universities for a while now. Just because Sony the sensor company which is a different part then the section that runs Sony cameras which they bought from Minolta. Buying a Sony camera with a Sony sensor is not the same sensors as in the high end cameras that other manufacturers are getting Sony to manufacture for them.
