The warmer weather reappeared this weekend so we finally got the new support for the climbing roses built. We still have a lot of work to do on the garden to get it like we want but then when it comes to gardening there is always work to do.
House hold DIY
We are after building some some supports to grow climbing roses up to shield the oil tank from the rest of the garden. SO this weekend we had a trip to the word merchant and the local DIY store to get the materials we need. So hopefully the next weekend will be fine so we can get it built.
Diet – Back on the Food Plan
There have been far to many treats about recently so its back to the food plan from today. I could do with loosing a few pounds as I am getting to the high side of the normal BMI scale.
Nissan Leaf V2 Announced
If you know anything about electric cars then you will know about the Nissan Leaf. When it was first released it was quite a revelation. While only having about 70 odd miles of range, it could quick charge in about 20 minutes and was a practical little car. Version 1.5 came the following year with LED lights and a heat pump, meaning you could drive in winter with the lights and heater on and not lose any of your range. A battery chemistry update a couple of years ago brought the range up to 107 miles but the competition was getting better. An updated BMW i3 and an updated Renault Zoe could both top 150 miles, and with cars like the GM Bolt and Tesla Model 3 coming soon with 200 plus miles the Leaf definitely needed a major update.
Well yesterday the Leaf V2 was announced. This was the short range model with a long range model promised next year. This short range model should do about 150 to 160 miles equalling the Zoe and the i3 but not enough to compete against the upcoming Bolt and Model 3. I was a little disappointed but if I had to buy a car today its likely at the top of the list due to the boot (trunk) size, it would easily accommodate a couple of large greyhounds. By the time it is available in the UK the Tesla Model 3 may also be available and if this is the case I may just go with the Tesla. The bottom of the range model can do 220 miles and is far more flexible in the charging options. Its downside is that its a sedan, but I am sure the Timmy would be happy on the back seat in a dog hammock, leaving the front boot (FRUNK) and the rear boot (Trunk) available for luggage. Its also rumoured the Tesla will be certified for towing so a small trailer will take care of the garden rubbish.
Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens and Stonham Barns
Our first trip out was to the Yoxford Antiques Centre, while Timmy the Greyhound was not allowed into the Antiques centre, they did have some nice gardens to explore with Timmy while the other looked around the centre.
A little further along was Stonham Barns Retail Village, lots of small units and a car collection of vintage Vauxhall’s.
There was a little pet shop selling home made dog treats so we indulged Timmy, and I managed to find a book shop which had a copy of Bob Carlos Clarke’s ‘The Dark Summer’. If your into striking photography get a copy the mix of nude and fashion with a dark twist is fantastic.
The Great Lincolnshire Greyhound Gathering 2017
It was the Louth Hound Show this weekend and incorporated into this was the Great Lincolnshire Greyhound Gathering of 2017, so of course we had to take Timmy the Greyhound to meet his friends.
There was stands from various Greyhound charities. If your after a dog and but think a dog will not suite your lifestyle then look into adopting a Greyhound. 
It was a hound show and most of the sight hounds were there, but there was also an open category for none hounds.
We bought Timmy a few treats and bits and bobs; we also spotted Greyhound Onesies! A lot of dog owners dress up there dogs and it seems hounds now are no exception!

I was going to give him an extra long walk but he prefers to sunbath when the weather is nice. An odd thing to enjoy for a black hound.
Charting my Exercise
As with many people now, I chart my exercise and general fitness with a smart watch.
I have tried to work hard and the other week I managed to complete all my challenges every day for all seven days. Now I have come down with a nasty cough and am not doing so well. Typically for me; try and get a bit fitter and end up with a cold.
The new Pub Roof
The pub now has half a new roof. With all the rain the work has been in fits and starts recently but its on the good weather days it comes along nicely.
A quiet Weekend
I was intending on getting a lot of household chores done this weekend and also get out to to the lovely Hartsholme Park to take a few shots but in the end we had a weekend doing nothing. Every year I fully intend to get out to the park with my digital SLR and long lens and document the wildlife over the course of a year, getting out there at least once a month and I keep failing. Maybe next year.
