Replacement Nikkor 70 – 300mm

Hot on the heals of my news of a rumoured D800, we now have some real news.  The Nikkor 70-300mm has been quietly replaced.  Whilst the old lens was a seemly basic plastic bodied lens the optical quality was actually very high and many professionals had one in their bags.

The lens has Nikon’s new stepper motor technology (AF-P), so it will not be compatible with many older cameras, but will work fantastically well with video and live view.

Nikon D800 Series – D850 Rumour

I am a big fan of the Nikon D800 series, and with the D810 now a few years old we are getting rumours of the next version the D850. Lets hope Nikon keep on hitting this one out of the ball park.

The D800 is a class act and still performs well from studio to nature photography and for many is a better choice then medium format, certainly more flexible.

Charting my Exercise

As with many people now, I chart my exercise and general fitness with a smart watch.

I have tried to work hard and the other week I managed to complete all my challenges every day for all seven days. Now I have come down with a nasty cough and am not doing so well. Typically for me; try and get a bit fitter and end up with a cold.

Phone Call in the Rain

Its been a real mix of weather in Lincoln over the last few weeks. The jet stream that affects a lot of the UK weather has been pushed down into its Winter position, more energy put into the climate will do that sort of thing. So its been sunshine and showers.

Another Lightroom Update

While importing a few new pictures I took at lunchtime I spotted Adobe had another bug fix release for Lightroom. Good to see them keeping up with the updates. They are supposed to be doing some major work for speed which is definitely needed.

Coffee shop visit

I don’t always make it, but I try and go to our local independent coffee shop at least twice a week.  Either on the walk there or in the shop I often find a interesting photograph.
